Antique Hand Worked Bobbin Lace c.1890
$145.00
Bobbin lace is made by twisting and crossing threads wound onto individual bobbins, a slow and highly skilled process that allowed remarkably fine patterns to be produced by hand. Dating to around 1890, this length is worked in fine ivory linen thread and is 20cm wide x 1.1m long. It has particularly interesting Tasmanian provenance, having been made in Hobart by Eliza Parnell Lord (1824–1913).
