Heavy Silver Plate Teapot from Italian Shipping Company CGA

Italian silverware maker Broggi supplied high-quality tableware to hotels, restaurants and shipping companies, and this substantial silver-plated teapot was made for the shipping company, Compagnia Generale Armamento (CGA). It carries the company’s CGA insignia within a diamond and has a capacity mark of “cl 50.” The hinged lid is topped with an attractive stylised pinecone resting on a radiating leaf motif. Weighing approximately 600g, it is a beautifully made piece of Italian maritime tableware, of the type used aboard company vessels.
