Italian gold jewellery of the 1980s often embraced bold, sculptural forms, and these 18ct gold earrings have a wonderfully surreal quality reminiscent of Salvador Dalí. Hallmarked “750 719 AR*”, with AR identifying the Arezzo district of Italy, they are 44mm long, 24mm wide and 6mm thick. Although substantial in appearance, they are hollow, making them practical and comfortable to wear, with secure lever-back fittings requiring no separate butterfly. They weigh approximately 15g and have all the confident glamour of 1980s Italian jewellery.
