Bakelite Cruet Set c.1930

Bakelite became a popular material for household objects during the Art Deco period, valued for its durability and ability to be produced in strong colours and geometric forms. This c.1930 cruet set by Marquis Australia has Bakelite tops and base with plastic condiment containers. It would originally have included a green mustard spoon, which is now missing. The set is 7.5cm high and 13cm long, and is a good example of Australian Art Deco tableware.
