Paste-set jewellery was widely used in the middle of the 20th century, allowing richly coloured glass stones to create the appearance of fine gemstones. Dating to around 1950, this substantial gold-tone brooch/pendant by Elizabeth Reimer is set with green glass paste and can be worn in either form. It is 42.5mm x 39mm, weighs 29.45g and is marked “872” and with the Reimer curved hallmark on the reverse.
