Moore Brothers, England c.1890

Moore Brothers was a well-regarded English porcelain maker known in the late Victorian period for decorative wares, particularly pieces with applied flowers, leaves and naturalistic ornament. Dating to around 1890, this substantial porcelain jardiniere is typical of the elaborate decorative ceramics fashionable for displaying indoor plants in Victorian homes. It is 16.5cm high, approximately 19cm across the top and weighs about 1.8kg.
