Root Beer Bakelite c.1940

Bakelite jewellery became especially popular during the 1930s and 1940s, with the warm brown colour known as “root beer” now particularly associated with the period. Dating to around 1940, this long necklace is 110cm and can be worn as a single strand or doubled. The 10–11mm beads are individually threaded on metal and connected by twisted oval links rather than string. It has no clasp and weighs 24.78g.
