Elizabeth Reimer became known in Australian costume jewellery during the 1950s and 1960s through her Arcansas line, producing distinctive pieces using glass, colour and sculptural forms. This unusual three-dimensional orchid brooch is made from frosted Coralene glass, with layered petals giving the flower considerable depth and presence. It is a substantial 7cm x 6.25cm and weighs 31.8g. The central stamens are missing, and the price reflects this condition.
